SPEAK OUT AT CONGRESSMAN MARINOS -Stroudsburg, PA 4:00 PM

December 8, 2011 2:00 PMJoin Us and Speak Out at Congressman and Senators  Office's .In late December, the federal unemployment insurance fund will run out of money. Unless Congress acts, millions of Americans face the prospect of going hungry and getting thrown out of their homes soon after the holidays Politicians predictably will demand cuts to other progressive programs before authorizing more spending for unemployment insurance. Meanwhile, jobless union members, veterans, students and millions of others are struggling to make ends meet while these leaders support the wealthiest 1%.That’s why, as part of the AFL-CIO’s America Wants to Work campaign, we will join with unions and allies across the country on Dec. 8 to give voice to the jobless and hold members of Congress accountable as the 99% call on our representatives to reauthorize the unemployment insurance benefit program. WE NEED YOU The 99% and YOUR Unemployment StoryPlease RSVP ASAP If you have not been at a Barletta Action this year. NOW IS THE TIME! Contact Roxiep9@aol.com 570-840-1650

TELL REPRESENTATIVE LOU BARLETTA:  “PASS THE JOBS BILL NOW” RALLY
Join AFSCME for a rally to tell Representative Lou Barletta to PASS THE JOBS BILL NOW Wednesday, September 28 – 4:30 PM OUTSIDE HIS OFFICE LOCATED AT:One South Church Street (Corner of Church St.and Broad St.)Suite 100Hazleton, PA  18201 It’s time to get to work, and get America back to work.  President Obama’s call for the American Jobs Act is a strong first step that embraces ideas from across the aisle to help our country recover from the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression, and I urge you to act on it immediately.  By investing in aid to states, much-needed infrastructure projects, and workers like me, the American Jobs Act must put our country and the middle class first.  I call on you to put aside political differences and begin the real work of the nation. The American Jobs Act will have an immediate impact on job creation and will help grow the economy from day one.  Please support a comprehensive and bold American Jobs Act and work with the President to help ease the suffering that so many Americans are feeling every day.
    PLEASE CONTACT: KGALLEGHER@AFSCME.ORG
